((warning! This is going to be a very long post! I don't know if I'll have time to finish it in one go, if not, please don't post until the Istari calls for volunteers!))
Eli was just sampling some of the food laid out for the banquet when the sound of trumpets made her look up. At one end of the hall, a great wooden throne had been raised on a dais. Behind it, silver and black banners shimmered. As the fanfare started, guards began to march out. On thier armour, a white tree stood out, white against the black. Behind them walked an old man, his beard and hair were silver but he was yet unbowed by age. At his side, a young man strutted, his dark head held high with his chin jutting out. Eldarion had reason to be proud, tonight was the night when the king would hand over his crown.
Elessar sat on the throne. Although he was stil supple, it took him an age to sit, or at least it seemed so to the excited Eli. Eldarion sat on a small stool, made of the same wood by his left hand side.
The king opened his mouth. "Tonight, something extraordinary is about to happen...."
The door at the entrance to the hall flew from its hinges. Everyone there was blinded by a light, which at first seemed as white as moonlight and starlight, but which as the seconds pasted in silence, it began to take on a blueish tint. No one moved. Then, as suddenyl as the light had appeared, it vanished, leaving them all blinking in the darkness.
Once the light had faded from their eyes, they saw that infront of the king stood two old men. Unlike Elessar, they were bent, as if carrying a great load on their shoulders. The same light that had filled the room burnt in their eyes. As Eli's eyes adjusted, she noticed that those eyes were filled with pain, and their faces had visible scars, as if they had been through a great many battles.
"We come bearing an urgent message." No one moved. By some spell, the men had captured the whole hall, not even the loyalest guards dared even move towards the king. "It concerns not just you, but the whole of middle earth. In the east shadow falls again."
Eldarion seemed the only one not under the spell.
"There is no shadow in the east!" He sneered. "Sauron was deafeted!"
"Sauron may be gone, but he was not the only dark Maia." The wizard continued, silenceing the prince with a look. "There were others that served Morgoth. Others that are willing to carry on his darkness. And in the east, one such Maia still exists. He is nameless, the people there live under the shadow of his fear, but they do not dare name it. they have a superstition that his true name will call him, and he will apear before the summoner. For many years now, he has been gathering supporters to him. Unlike Sauron, h was not challenged, even if he had been, there was no ring to throw into fire, no physical thing that could destroy him. This is why your help is needed. This foul thing must be destroyed!"
"Why should we do anything to help?" Eldarion had found his tongue again.
"Because his evi will spread. A hundred years ago, you defeated Sauron. This time, unless you act quickly, you will be overrun. I do not ask the kingdom of Gondor to help me, I know that you will not. I ask instead for warriors, heros, that will help me."
"How do we know that this evil even exists?" Eldarion looked scared.
"You have only our word." This time the other Istari spoke. "You may not believe it, but there will be many here that will wish to prevent the destruction of all they hold dear. I ask them now to step forward, to come with us into the darkness and to look for a way to stop this evil. Who here will come?"
((that would be your cue. Sorry Eldarion seems like a bit of an evil idiot, he wasn't supposed to turn out this way. He might redeem himself later!))
