Adventurous hobbit (OOC thread)

Ivy was going to return, but the arrival of Faramir means she can't. The RP has jumped forward an age, a temporal paradox walks amongst us (Faramir's father, if he is in existence at all would be a small child) and the whole idea of inexperienced Hobbits going off into the wild has been wrecked by the appearance first of Meredith's character and then by Faramir.

It's very sad, but the RP is impossible now.

Yeah, it was sort of the idea to have no experience, sortof learning as we go. I guess we could continue it though. It wouldn't be the same as if we were all inexperienced. I was having a lot of fun with this RP but it kinda died.

I would like to get the RP going again, but at the moment it isn't very possible, as it's gotten rather off track. A few things would need to be fixed in order for it to work. The RP is set after Bilbo's first adventure, but before he leaves the Shire for the second time. So there wouldn't yet be a Faramir Took.

The RP is about several very inexperienced hobbits in search of adventure. None of them really know what they are doing, but that is the point of it. So even if they aren't using their weapons properly or their Elvish is wrong, or they think warg-i-wolves are real creatures, it's good to leave it like that. It will make it more interesting when they meet up with the elves and anything else they wind up facing.

Now, for the direction the RP is heading... This was the original plan:

I think we'll set out East, and stop through Bree. We would have heard Bilbo's stories so much, we know that there are elves that live east by the Misty Mountains. Young hobbits that we are, we don't fully grasp how far it is, or how hard it is to find Rivendell. After Bree sometime, they will run into a few elves. I'll play one of them if I need to. Either we can have other people play elves, or some of us who are already hobbits could just use two characters, and elf and a hobbit. Or maybe they could hear of a dragon somewhere, and set out to kill it, after hearing about Bilbo's adventures. Or they could meet the elves, then go after the dragon!

I would like to get back to that as much as possible, and have both the elves and a dragon. I think the best way to do that would be to back up, maybe delete some posts to get us back to where we can go with that plan. I would like everyone's input on this, so I can know what the rest of you think about it #noedit

Maybe we should just back up to Faramir's entrance. Leave it as it is, the posts can stay, just act like that part never happened. Deleting them would just be a hastle, for me that is. My computer always freezes when I attempt to delete posts.

It would probably be less confusing if they were deleted, so if everyone agrees, I could delete the posts and you wouldn't have to worry about it locking up on you

And Pippin/Faramir could reenter as a hobbit with a different name and character if he wants to. Or he could wait until later when we may meet up with elves, dragons, etc., and join then.

And what about Meredith's character? He never posts anymore, anyway. His character is too experienced as well.

My Character is Not a problem really
yes he is experianced
yes he is skilled
yes he has chronic back trouble and arthtitis
he is the opposite end of the spectrum hes OLD even compared to bilbo hes old
and he was going out on one last adventure
people hated it so he left
what more do you want ?
he walked away and has not returned
the original plan was he would be an advisor a sort of semigandalf and would DIE before the journey ended
