Are we dead?

Ok, it's come down to this:
LotR isn't enough to keep this site together, so what is? I think the only thing keeping any of us here are the people and friendships we've made through Med. Is that enough? Would it really be so terrible if we all moved to another, more active site?

I'm getting tired of checking back here again and again, only to find nothing. *sigh* Maybe it's time for us all to just let Meduseld die... that way none of us have to bear being left alone in the dust.

I've been feeling exactly the same way Dandre... and if it has come down to this, which I think it has, I think we shoulc move to another active LotR site. Even though I haven't exactly been here for a long time, people here have been incredibly nice to me... but i just don't think there are enough active members to keep this place running any longer.

If everyone else agrees I say we'd better all move, together to another site, and soon before Med. falls altogether!

Well, I've said what I think needs to be done to get some action in here... I think it's safe to say it probably won't be done, which honestly is ok. Friendships were made here and people have moved on. But I don't think we need to all "officially" move to another forum. On another message board someone posted the idea to include all the messageboards one posts at in your sig. I think it's a good idea. In fact I think I'll do it. But for the record, I post at TORC the most, so if you are really looking for me, that's the place to look first.

I won't say, "goodbye, Med" because I'm sure I'll check back on the site to see if I have any PMs or such or to collect an e-mail I've forgotten. But I don't see anything major happening despite the best efforts being made. Soo...

I agree with Elessar, I guess I'll never be able to say a real "goodbye" to Med...I'll certainly come back and reread old threads and such, and my memories of our moments here will hardly ever fade. But as it seems like people's lives have taken a different path, I'll leave my contact info here, so we can at least keep in touch...

Not sure if anyone will read this... God, my life has changed since I used to post here. LOTR is not a part of it at all, I haven't seen the movies in years and haven't read the books either. And I'm ok with that. I'm sure my old self would have been PO'd at my new self for forsaking Tolkien, but well... we all have to move on some time, hm?

HELOOOOO, Elessar!

Yeah, my life is currently NOTHING like it used to be when I used to come back from school every single day running to come to Med. I still love LoTR, but also haven't watched the movied or read the book in at least a couple of years. And i'm actually ok with that too.
I'm currently reading a book by Tolkien, though! "The Ballad of Sigurd and Gudrun". It's sort of a new version of a Norse Mythology tale, and very well written, as always coming from Tolkien. I highly recommend it.
