What is your favourite moment from the movie? Here are some of mine: Arwen and Aragorn in the Dream sequence ~ the line (translated from elvish) Trust this, trust us etc. Aragorn dying and Arwen walking alone ~ loved it and very sad In the FOTR EE ~ Aragorn looking back at Arwen Frodo standing at the end of FOTR before the boats Gandalf's words ~ All we have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given to us So what are yours? ~*~Simbelmyne~*~

I love Moria. It is exactly what I have been picturing all these years. Whenever an elf is on screen, I am happy, especially when they speak elvish. In what other language could a line about weaknesses in armour sound alluring?
There aren't many scenes I don't love. I was very pleased that Boromir was given a decent death scene. I think Faramir was treated badly, but most of the characters are exactly as they are supposed to be.

Yeah, thinking about it, Moria was a pretty high point for me.
I agree with what you said about Elvish. It really flows and I'm glad they used it as much as they could ~ it shows just how much work Tolkien put into Lord of the Rings in so many different ways.
I don't know why I didn't mention the Death of Boromir. That was actually more or less my favourite scene *hits self*. The lines are really touching and beautiful.
I didn't really like the way they protrayed Faramir. I think he was OK, but they should have thought more about it, made him perhaps more different from Boromir.

That's what I thought. In the book he's a much more sympathetic character.

And he's also more aware that Boromir made mistakes. I think maybe if they wanted him to seem slightly like his brother, but still different, maybe Sam or Frodo should have mentioned Boromir's view on the ring perhaps earlier.

I have to say, I love Gandalf's duel with the Balrog. Although, this could just be because I've been going Balrog crazy latly.....
I also love the council scene. They manage to give you so much background in such a short time, it really adds to the depth of the movie!

I could watch the council scene again and again. To be honest, I do. It's perfect!

Oh, I forgot another two! *smacks head*
I love the march of the ents. The feeling of power and the music is just awesome. I especially love the way that the one that was on fire manages to put it out!
I also love in Meduseld, the bit where Eomer is asking what Grima's reward would be and he looks at Eowyn and the way she stops in mid stride is just great! I wish I was that gracefull.

Thanks Eloise! You reminded me I need to do a screencap of that Eowyn/Eomer/Grima bit!

I too wasn't entirely happy with Faramir. You should have heard me in the theater... "The Ring will go to WHERE?" All the Treebeard scenes were amazing. They did him so perfectly. I can't wait for the EE. ;D I wasn't too crazy about Galadriel's temptation in FOTR. I always thought it should be more subtle, but I really grew to like her after I saw the EE gift-giving scene. Cate's amazing as an actress.

The ents were perfect. That's one thing I was sure they'd get wrong. I was so glad they didn't mess it up!
I agree the Galadriel scene should have been more subtle. It makes her look evil. Cate did a wonderful job though. It can't be an easy part to play.

Absolutely...Cate is an amazing actress and because of her Galadriel was probably one of my favourite characters.
I think the temptation might have been better if the vocals had been left alone or done more subtly. She sounded like Darth Vader.

/me i loved all the nazgul scenes. They emit so much darkness from them - its just.. /me Boromir's death scene did Tolkien so much justice! It was so moving, especially with the soundtrack behind it. /me in the FOTR EE, when merry and pip are on the boats in lothlorien with the lembas, LOL i always laugh so hard at that! /me Haldir's death in TTT was beautifully done... if you get what i mean... go slow motion! But i think that the best bit from the entire two films so far has to be Sam's speech at the end of TTT. so sad and powerful ...but in the end, its only a passing thing this shadow. even darkness must pass...

I love that speech. Generally, I don't get emotional. I have a heart of granite. That got to me, though. Whenever I hear it, tears come to my eyes. One of the biggest influences on my life has been the kind of stories he was talking about.

And gandalf speech at the end really got to me as well, and the bit where merry says there won't be a shire.... Somehow it just manages to bring home the desperateness of thier situation and everything they're fighting for.
