Here's something I've been working on for the past few days; it's my second-longest translation to date (you can see the longest one on my site). There are still a few words missing here and there--hopefully they'll be "unearthed" eventually from Tolkien's vast amount of unpublished works.
I thought y'all might enjoy this, so here's the first little chunk I've done:
Eärendil engë Ciryaquendë

Eärendil was a mariner
Man lartanë mi Arvernien;
that (sub. Who) tarried in Arvernien;
Carneryë cirya o toa pelehtanë
he built a boat of timber felled
Mi Nimbrethil na lelya mi;
in Nimbrethil to journey in;
Rámarrya lanyaneryë o telpë vanima,
her sails (sub. Wings) he wove of silver fair,
O telpë calmarrya carnër,
of silver [were] her lanterns made,
Langorya carnë ve alqua,
her prow was fashioned like a swan,
Ar calë or súlë-quessirya lantanër.
and light upon her banners (sub. Wind-feathers) laid (sub. Fell).
Mi anve o yara arani,
In panoply of ancient kings,
Mi lanyanër cormar hamperyë se;
in chained (sub. Woven) rings he armoured him;
Turmarya síla tompë certarnen
his shining shield was scored with runes
Varyas ilya harwillo ar raxalillo
(Lit. To-protect-him from all wounds and dangers)
to ward all wounds and harm from him;
Curya carnë o lókë-rassë,
his bow was made of dragon-horn,
Pilindirya pelehtanë o mornë toa
his arrows shorn (sub. Hew) of ebony (sub. Dark wood),
Vaccorya engë o telpë
of silver was his habergeon (Lit. His coat was of silver),
Macil-vailë rya o silima;
his scabbard (sub. sword-covering) of chalcedony (sub. crystal substance);
Macilrya o tinco haryanë cánë
his sword of steel (sub. Metal) was valiant,
O tinco sarda cassarya halla,
of adamant (sub. Metal hard) his helmet tall,
Soron-quessë am-or ormërya,
[an] eagle-plume upon his crest,
am-or [chest/breast] laica-sar
upon his breast [an] emerald (sub. green-stone).
