Welcome to the Meduseld Book Club! The goal of this club is to read through The Lord of the Rings together, a chapter at a time, while discussing the chapters as we go. Anyone is welcome to join in, whether it is your first time or your tenth time! I think that, even if someone has read it many times, there will be many new things that will come up in discussion that may have never been noticed before. During the discussions, we can bring up a favorite quote, a new idea that was presented, a new plot device, or anything else. Rules- If you're talking about story-spoilers ahead of the chapter being discussed, please put a warning before you do, for people who have not read it before.
- When you're referring to a section of a chapter, please don't use just page numbers, as different editions will have different pagination.
Anyone can read along! And even if you haven't been reading with us, please feel free to jump in on the discussions or answer questions if you'd like.

I'll join. It will be the fourth time I'll read LOTR, and my experience with the first 3 times proves that it gets better every time I read it again. I don't have an English edition, but I don't think that's a problem, is it?

Nope, I don't think that's a problem at all.

I'd like to join too... I don't know if I'll have time for the reading, but I've read it many times already so I guess just revising here and there would be enough
Great idea btw (:

I'd love to join! I've read everything except FOTR once, (I've read FOTR twice.) I keep on meaning to get around reading TTT and ROTK again, but haven't yet.
Will we be reading other books by Tolkien as well?
I think this is a great idea! ;D

I hope so, that would be great! After we finish LOTR, we can move onto the Sil or Unfinished Tales, whatever we all decide.

I'll join! When are we starting? I've never read them before, but I'm reading the Sil now. But I have read just bits and peices of parts of the books, the begining of FotR, and the last bit of TTT. edit: Nevermind, I just saw the answer to my question.

You can never read them too many times. I'm in the middle of the lost tales part one. We could read the histories too.

I would be glad to join in the discussion when I can, if that is all right? ;D I have read them before and all, and I promise to be very careful about spoilers.
