This thread will be used for figuring out the days that we will have the scheduled chapter discussions, and then I'll put whatever we decide in the Upcoming Discussions thread. So... first up: A Long-Expected party. Any ideas on a good day to start discussion? Is a week from now good for everyone? edit to fix chapter name (due to strange brain lapse)

Well... I guess it'd be nice to start during the weekend when most people (unfortunately not me, but that's ok) are free... so Saturday maybe?
One more thing... we aren't doing the prologue at all then?

Saturday is a good idea. Hmm... that's a good point about the prologue. Do you guys want to start with it?

Personally I don't really think it's that important. If people want to read it then thats fine, but I don't really think it needs a discussion lol

I don't mind if we read the prolouge or not, I've never read it before anyway. Oh, wait, I read part of it. I can't do it this Saturday, I'm going to be gone all day in a competition. But I normaly can do it then. Another thing,(if we were going to do it this Sat.) so we would've read it this week, then we discuss it on Saturday? Is that right?

As for the specific day we start, I think it would be OK to move it to either Sunday or Friday so that you can join in Evenstar. Do you guys want to discuss it the week that we are reading it, ie the discussion of the first chapter is all this week and we switch to the next chapter at the end of the week. Or do we begin the discussion of the first chapter on Saturday (or whatever day) and continue through the week that we are reading the next chapter. Or we could have the discussion take place over a day. Any preferences?

I think we should discuss it the week after because some people might not get as far as fast. Like me for example I will probably be done with it by wednesday and want to discuss something someone else hasn't even got to. And it should be for a whole week. That might be boring at first but when we get to parts like the Council of Elrond we may need all week to discuss it!
Only one day also makes it hard to keep up for those with real lives. When we start I don't care.

I think we should Shieldmaiden's idea. Other people can't be on constantly, everyday...*glances at Arwen and Nen*

Shieldmaiden has some good ideas. I agree with her.

Thanks for the input! OK then, if no one disagrees, we'll start discussions of A Long-Expected Party on Sunday the 25th. I'll start a thread that will have just the days that we eventually decide on for future chapter discussions, and we can use this thread for the actual deciding.

What did I do?? I agree, though. Just one day would be hard, since not everyone might be able to get on that day.

What did you do?! You're on constantly! Of course, there's no real problem with that...

Discussing a whole week is fine with me. I have to share the computer with my brother and my sister, and sometimes they are online for almost all day. It would be hard for me then to join the discussion.

I agree there should be more than one day open for discussion... there are days that one just doesn't have time for internet
