The last time I went to see ROTK, when it came to the point of Elrond and Aragorn reciting Gilraen's linnod, there were no subtitles. There had been every other time I had gone. Did anyone else experience this?

That's odd... I've seen it three times, and they were always there. But they never had subtitles when Aragorn told Legolas hannon le, or when Frodo said Aiya Eärendil Elenion Ancalima. I had to look that one up in the book, then translate it with a quenya dictionary online.

Yeah, that is strange!  My theater didn't have subtitles when Frodo said that elvish for the phial or hannon le, but I think that's normal. Also, in FotR, when Arwen is on the horse (see avatar), the dvd doesn't have subtitles for noro lim either, which bugged me. |

But hannon le could mean anything how are non-lotr fans mean to know?? It's a bit silly really he could have been saying 'I hate you' for all they knew  |

I went to see it twice and there were no subtitles for all that you mentioned.
When Frodo said the Elvish with the phial, I could barely hear him, just 'Ancalima'. I wasn't sure what he was saying, even the second time I watched it (what does that mean, btw?).
-_- I wanted him and Sam to sing that little song about Elbereth Gilthoniel when Frodo was captured by the Orcs but they didn't. And he never shouted out her name either (I think he did that in the book).

In Brazil, in Aragorn and Elronds lines, there are normal subtitles, as if it were English...Usually, the lines in Elvish have subtitles in italics, but not this time... And in "hannon le" and "Aiya Eärendil Elenion Ancalima" There were no subtitles...

Yeah, congrats Hathy!!!!  And I'm not sure what "Aiya Eärendil Elenion Ancalima" means either, but I just know that Galadriel told Frodo to say that to make the light work.  |

yea..i know this great site and the admin there, Arwen. has all the elvish from all three of the movies. ;D Very nice...i then figured out what Frodo says to the Light and it helped me memorize it...i love Aragorn's song at the end...it's beautiful, but also sad.

The same thing happened to me as elessar... the third time I saw RotK, there were no subtitles for the scene where Elrond gives Aragorn Narsil, but there had been the first two times. I have no idea why.
