I thought the graphics were great, but I always thought wargs were talking wolves that were maybe a little bigger. Those things didn;t look like wolves to me... They didn't talk either

Yeah, that's what I thought; they were a bit too much like big scary bears that wolves for me. But I still thought they were great!

I read somewhere they tried to lean them a bit towards hyenas...I don't know. Maybe they thought Saruman tried another in-breeding experiment

Well, they weren't what I expected (b/c that scene was not in the books), but from reading the Hobbit and such, yeah, they were better than what I'd imagined.

They seemed pretty good to me. Not exactly wolves, but I personally thought that it was cool to have a different kind of animal than the real wolf. They also seemed real to me (not as real as Gollum, though), and I don't think that it would be good if they spoke.

I didn't like them too much I always thought they'd be a lot more wolfy and seem a lot more intelligent than they did, and be a bit more than just steeds for the orcs. (Ok, powerfull, strong, dangerous steeds but still) Yeah, I would've been happier if they'd been more wolfish.

Yep - it's known that wargs let the orcs ride on their backs, but in exchange they got a share of any plunder the orcs found, so they must have been smart enough to ask for it!

Hmm, interesting point Sim. I never thought of it that way...

whoever hasn't read the hobbit...the wargs are very intelligent in that. They have a council and a meeting with the orcs (goblins...). They talk and have a hieracrhy and everything.

I'm with Eloise on this one... I think perhaps WETA went a bit overboard on them.

I really liked them, not at all what I was expecting but I was just imagining big wolves so they were more interesting in the movie. But no I can't even think of one of them talking.
