Spoilers and Rumours forum?

Hi, I was just wondering, Sim- is the Spoilers and Rumours forum really necessary anymore? Now that the films are all released? (including RotK EE) It looks like most of the threads could easily be moved to other, more appropriate forums. For example, the thread on Arwen's Song might actually fit better under Horns of Rohan.

This would just help keep the forum looking neat and tidy, and also give it a more up-to-date feel. We don't want to give the impression that all LotR fans are stuck in a "movie age"! (hehe, drastic example, but you get what I mean. )

Also, isn't the "Party Business" forum rather out-of-date as well? I'm just mentioning this because the "As Meduseld approaches its 2nd birthday on February 5th..." header looks really funny now that we're in the middle of September.

I have to agree, though. The "Spoilers and Rumors" is a bit out-of-date. Perhaps instead of moving all the threads, we could give the forum a new title that doesn't sound like it is restricted to discussion of the movies. I know I have some suggestions on alternative names, but they're not coming to mind, right now.

Perhaps "Party Business" should be a sub-board of the Announcement board? This would save us from having to delete it and is as simple as a couple of mouseclicks for Sim. And/or the description could be changed to something like "The party was a huge sucess, looking forward to our third birthday in Feb. 2007."

I agree that it's now obsolete. I would sub-board it - and the Party forum (good idea!). Elessar - with his agreement, of course - would probably be added as a mod to the Inner Keep or the Games while moderating the Rumours and Spoilers (I suspect it will quieten down a little until the Hobbit, should it be made). Thanks for your ideas!

Edit: My apologies if anyone had objections to this - it can be moved back, although this might not really work. I hope it doesn't appear to be an action like the archiving situation - it's just to neaten things and both boards are still open or open when they're next needed.

erm... wouldn't it be nicer to just divide all the threads in the Spoilers and Rumours forum into separate forums? It looks to me as if all the threads could easily fit in under another topic. In many cases, such as the Arwen's Song thread, the threads might actually get more attention if they were moved elsewhere!
Those are my thoughts, anyway.

I'll move the music-related threads, but I think that in splitting it up we may end up getting rid of the past (these threads will also get less attention because they will arrive near the bottom of the list). Those are my thoughts, anyway.
