(((OOC (Out of character): I thought we should just have a thread to get to know each other's RPing personalities first. If you want to create another RP, go right ahead!)))
Simbelmyne saddled her horse. She was ready for the long journey. The place was just outside Gondor, and there was a host of three hundred soldiers and cavalry, a gathering of the last elves and men of Gondor and Rohan. She gave a piercing whistle, everyone fell silent and they rode forward.
She was a shieldmaiden of Rohan, a descendant of both Arwen and Eowyn, and she had been a general of Rohan and First Marshall of the Riddermark for many of her two hundred and thirty-seven years. She was one of the few women that chose to dedicate their life to swordfighting and defence, although she was also a healer and had the gift of foresight among others. She was half-elven and half-Rohirric, and had studied the elven arts in Rivendell before coming to Gondor at the age of twenty.
They were riding to Rohan with tidings of battle ~ the men of Harad had regrouped for many years since the fall of Sauron, and were now encroaching on Gondor. There was need of a small force from Rohan, and they were to ride for seven days at a fast gallop before reaching Gondor and returning.
She turned in her saddle and surveyed those behind her. "Suilad, mellon nin. Your name?..."

"My name?" Loriena was startled. She had grown used to being ignored and any contact with another being had become foreign "It's Loriena. You use the Elven tongue, you are no pure Rohirrm. May I ask how you came to know that fair tongue?" Loriena adjusted her hood to make sure her pointed ears were hidden. Sometimes there was an advantage in people not knowing your background. Atleast untill you got to know them better.

"I am half-elven. I was raised in Rivendell with the elves and my ancestors...some of them were elvish. I was the Gondorian ambassador to Rohan, and owing to my Rohirric background, they accepted me into their ranks when I was a young elf. What of your background? Forgive me. I am too curious for my own good."

Loriena smiled, she was among friends, she knew. To tell of her background would cause no harm. "I am an elf also. Rivendell I hale from, although I left a few years ago, looking for adventure. To ride with the Rohirrim is a great honour, although I am sure they do not all know my race yet"

"I am not sure I know everyone's race either. We ride with a great host from many places and from many races. I would consider myself lucky to know even a quarter of those I have the honour and good fortune to ride with. Do you come with any that you know?"

"No, although I wish I did. Indeed you have been the first person kind enough to acnowledge my presence. All the other riders seem happy enough for me to be amongst thier ranks, but they do not converse with me." Loriena sighed. "It makes it hard to make friends. What about you? Do you know many?"

"A few that I have commanded before, but I do not know them very well. When wandering, I do not have the chance to make or see permanent friends. One of the disadvantages of being a swordswoman." She sighed. "But I like it well enough."

"I know what you mean" Loriena tucked a strand of hair back into her hood. "No friends means no ties, the abiltiy to go where you want and do what you will" She sighed. "Sometimes I miss having no fixed abode though."

Arhiril Belegestel looked at the elf and half elf. She was a little nervous around elves because she had hardly ever been around them. "Suilad. I am Arhiril Belegestel, daughter of Damrod of the Tower Guard of Minas Tirith. I travel rarely, unfortunately, though I love nothing more than to be on adventures with Baranel, my mare. I have lived in Minas Tirith all of my life, and now I am ready live in other places." She pulled her cloak tighter around her against the wind.

"It seems as if all who ride with the rohirrim are loners" Loriena sighed. "It also seems none of us are pure Rohirrim. Do all that ride have such varied histories as us?"

"Suilad Arhiril Belegestel. May the blessings of the Valar be with you wherever you travel. You would be well-received in Rohan if you would come to our country." She turned to Loriena. "I believe some Rohirrim ride with us." She gave a sharp whistle, and a member of the guard came riding up. "My lady?" "To introduce you to some friends. This is Loriena, this is Arhiril." She turned to Loriena. "You were enquiring about pure Rohirrim in this eored? My guard Heorl has a pure Rohirric family for many generations back."

Loriena smiled. "Greetings Heorl. It is good to know that at least one of our company is a pure rohirrim." She looked around the group. "Now is the time to confess my ignorance. Does anyone know where we are headed for?" She questioned, blushing.

"We are headed for my home country of Rohan. We ride with tidings of war and the men of Harad. They are moving in on Gondor. We will lead an eored into battle, and ride to the end. Many of us will only go to Gondor, but I will seek the elves of Rivendell and East Lorien, and I will lead them here behind me."

A young woman moved through the crowd of people. She appeared to be looking for something or someone, but in truth she was only really looking for someone to talk to. She had joined the group only days before and had spoken to no one. She noticed several people talking and walked over to them. A couple were Elvish looking.
"Hello. I'm Elana. I have been lonely and lacking company, so I decided to introduce myself. I hope you don't mind."

Arhiril smiled. "Welcome Elana. 'Tis good to have you here with us. I do not have many friends in the company either for I have never left Minas Tirith till this time." She paused, not knowing what else to say and began twisting the reins around her hands.
