Eloise opened her eyes. Her wing hurt but it was better than before. An elf sat a little way off, humming softly to himself. He obviously hadn't realised she was awake yet. Eloise's only thought was to get back to the others. She had no idea where they now were. She lay still, trying to figure out her next course of action.
(oops- sorry for the confoosion earlier!)

The party brought their boats ashore by the hobbit and set camp for the night.
"Tell me friend Galadeth, who is Eloise? Is she one of the missing hobbits or prehaps our young friends mother?"
The party sat resting against the trees as the Hobbits htpot began to smell good.

Laerdan laughed "Of course I know Legolas" (ooc check out her bio) "This Balrog, a friendly creature you say? well these are strange times I will trust that such strange things cn be true. If this Balrog is one of your party why does she not travel with you, surely you have not abandoned a friend?" she asked "Still the hour is late and you can tell me of such things in the morning, ur friend meredith asks for a song so a song he shall have." Laerdan took out her lute and sang (ooc title If Ever I would Leave You (Tune can be heard at: dreamwater.org/jhall/))(Keep Hope My friend, keep hope, The stars will lead you Our friendship will call you Until you come here. My love will speak It will bring you here. Friendship will not wither Like a sweet flower. Friend, do not fear, My thought walks the path with you. All who will trouble you Will battle against me. Your path I will follow, In spirit and love Your heart I will make firm, Dear jewel of Elbereth. The friendship we have will not go into exile in darkness When fear comes look and find the hope of the stars. My friend, in the radiant light, In the radiant light of the stars, We will go united. Hope, my friend. Do not fear, friend! We will find a way as one Our friendship will not wither, My star.) "Now who else will sing before we sleep, Meredith, Galadeth?" #noedit

"But surely you have searched for her?"
Laerdan asked in disbelief,
"Even a Balrog who is your companion would deserve that much care surely? Or have you arranged to meet her further down this river? I cannot believe that anyone would leve a friend behind them in these dangerous times without a thought for their well being Prehaps we should wait here for her?"

Eloise continued to lie still, she could think of no way out of this place. The elves were unlikly to be friendly and she couldn't fly, even though the pain in her wing had been greatly lessned. She heard to sound of someone approaching. It was an elven woman. ((ooc- that would be neniethel ) She whispered a few words to the elf. Eloise decided it was time to make a move. "Excuse me." Her voice sounded harsh and a little bit aggressive. She winced slightly. "Where am I exactly?"

Nestoneth was surprised that the balrog could speak so well. She moved closer. "You are at the edges of Eryn Lasgalen." She tried to think of a place the balrog might know. "We are near the Misty Mountains. I can be your guide if there is somewhere you wish to go. I a as responsible for your wellbeing as for your good conduct, and I must make amends for your suffering at the hands of my people. I know all the lands that border the mountains."

"There is no point looking in the dark friend Galadeth, let us rest here the night and tommorrow we will begin our search. Simbelmyne cannot be far away she was here but a minute ago."
With that Laerdan pulled up her blankets and her squirrel snuggled in beside her, the party were all soon asleep.

"she is a full grown balrog"The hobbit added"she is unlikely to have run into any trouble that we could deal with" He indictated the child "and some of us don't have elven eyes and are almost blind in the dark"

"Yes, I think you are right, Laerdan... my wound hurts a little and I am a bit tired now."
Legolas went for wine for everybody.
"And my friend hobbit, you are right, I forgot that you are not Elves..."
