Ithilwen glanced around cautiously as she turned the key in the lock and she stepped inside the cell.
"Avo pedo*," she cautioned the two ladies, "we must not draw attention to ourselves." She dropped to one knee down by Lenniel, concern showing across her face. "How are you feeling, Lady Lenniel? And you, Lady Galadwen?" Ithilwen turned her head to look at Galadwen. "Can you travel, are you able to run quickly if I say so? I cannot predict how easy it will be for us to get out of here, but we must try."
Ithilwen drew a short dagger from her boot and sliced the ropes around Galadwen's and Lenniel's hands, then handed the dagger to Lenniel.
"Use it if you have to, for these ulunn* will show us no mercy."
Ithilwen turned to Galadwen, grinning and raising an eyebrow. "Are you a good shot with stones?"

Linniel moved her arms and legs around, trying to get rid of the stiffness. She looked at the dagger Ithilwen had given her. She usually carried her own, but she had either lost it in the struggle when they kidnapped her, or they had taken it from her. She took the ribbon out of her hair and tied it back again, to keep her long hair out of her face. 'I'm feeling pretty good, though rather stiff,' she answered Ithilwen's question. She heard a noise from far down the hall. 'We must hurry before someone comes!'

Ithilwen leaped to the door and pressed her ear against it, listening. She glanced back around the cell, and noted its barrenness.
"Quick," she hissed quietly, "back against the walls and out of sight!"
Ithilwen took up her stance just on the other side of the door, her back pressed against the wall, her bolas at the ready.
The ulunn had stopped just outside the cell door and grunted in confusion. Ithilwen watched its shadow on the wall as it bent down to take a closer look at the former guard. It stood up, and noticed the cell door slightly ajar. Slowly, it opened the thick wood door.
Ithilwen barely dared to breathe.
THWACK!
The evil creature fell senseless at her feet. She grinned at the Ladies Galadwen and Lenniel--Lagor and Daer had struck again!
"Hurry, we must drag the two inside and bind them up. Then we may leave this wretched place."

Galadwen saw the body of the creature fall and she started to smile. They would get out of here yet!
" Dannar sui nîn edhellin!"*Galadwen retorted.
Galadwen rushed towards the door with Lenniel behind her. Grabbing a hold of one of the creatures, she started to drag it inside.
Lenniel grabbed the other one and dragged it inside, while Ithilwen got some binds ready to tie them up.
Galadwen had just gotten her creature in the cell, when she heard something running down the corridor. She peeked out the door and saw one more creature coming towards them.
Galadwen looked around for some sort of weapon and then saw a jagged rock on the floor of the cell. She grabbed it and made ready to hurl it at the creature once it got closer.
Waiting for the opportune moment, she found it, and tossed the rock with perfect aim towards the creatures forehead. The rock hits it's target perfectly and the creature went down with a THUD.
Grinning Galadwen rushed down the corridor and started to drag the creature towards the cell room as well.
No more creatures were heard while they tied up the three inside the room. As soon as they finished they quickly made thier way out the room. Ithilwen shut the door quietly and locked it tight; pocketing the key before departing down the corridor.

Ithilwen smiled at the two ladies, and motioned for them to follow her with caution. The three crept back out the corridor, making no noise as they traveled. Ithilwen's heart beat fast within her chest and she was grateful that none could hear it except herself.
"Ai, na vedui!*" one of the ladies whispered (Ithilwen thought it might have been Lenniel) as the trio caught sight of the sunlight pouring through the cave entrance.
Ithilwen smiled and looking around, found a shadowed nook.
" Delio hi,*" she mouthed to the pair, and after seeing them safely hidden, crept towards the entrance. Things cannot go astray when we are so close, she prayed fervently.
Cautiously she poked her head out of the entrance way, and seeing that the coast was clear, motioned to Galadwen and Lenniel to come, and come quickly. The three stepped out into the sunlight and stealthily disappeared into the tall grass.
"Aphado nin, a avo caro 'lam,*" she whispered as the trio crawled away from the prison under cover of the grass.
*"Oh at last!' *"Hide here" *"Follow me, and do not make a noise"

Galadwen, knowing the danger they were in until they got far enough away, stuck to the back. She made sure Lenniel was in-between her and Ithilwen.
They didn't say a word until they got to a certain tree. Galadwen remembered this tree because she had dropped her necklace there as a help to whomever was out searching for them. Evidently, it didn't work...because the necklace was still there.
Shaking her head, Galadwen picked it up and placed it in her pouch.
"It's a wonder we were ever found."she thought to herself.
They crawled along for a long time until they went down a hill and into a field. There waiting patiently was Ithilwen's horse.

Ithilwen grimaced when the muscles in her injured arm pulled uncomfortably as she quickly helped Lenniel and Galadwen over the little rise into the valley where Súlvor was patiently waiting.
"Quick, we do not have much time before they discover the flight of the caged birds--we will not be safe here for much longer!" she whispered urgently to the two. Súlvor came over to his mistress and shoved his nose at her hands, but Ithilwen simply patted him swiftly as she spoke to him. "Súlvor, my loyal and brave steed, you must bear the Ladies Galadwen and Lenniel away to Imladris."
Ithilwen checked the saddle girth and helped Lenniel up onto Súlvor (he was an extrordinarily tall horse), and then Galadwen. She handed the reins back to the two and looked up at them.
"Go with haste and all speed--we, luckily, are not too far from Imladris' borders. Súlvor will bear you well and I will be along shortly. With luck on our side, you will meet Ariel coming towards us through the woods. If the royals delivered their message faithfully, she will be swiftly coming to our aid. Ariel is a good friend of mine and will escort you back safely."
Ithilwen gently rubbed her arm, trying to ease the dull ache which had started as the trio scaled the rise.
"Bado! Lagoras!*" Ithilwen said and slapped Súlvor on the rump. She would scour the clearing to be sure there were no traces left of their stay and then set out behind the Ladies--on foot.
*"Go! Swiftly!"

Galadwen and Lenniel rode hard through the forest till they got far enough from the cave that they could slow to a lope.
Galadwen kept looking back at Ithilwen, wishing that they could go back and take her with them.
But they had to keep moving, Ithilwen's friend Ariel would be on her way and they needed to catch up with her.
Thinking of a song she once wrote, Galadwen started to sing.
Oh burning light, Where shall you shine? Towards the place, Where love is no more.
How can we love, In a place with no peace? Will war cease Before all is dead?
How cold it is, in this place. Where love is gone, Hate has replaced.
Hate isn't allowed If we are to endure. Oh burning light, Come back to me now.
After a while Lenniel started to sing with her, it was such a melodious sound in such a dreary place.
An hour had passed before Galadwen heard some hooves coming their way.
Stearing Súlvor to a stop, they waited....soon a friendly face appeared out of the thicket.
It was Ariel, making her way towards the way they just had come. Upon seeing Galadwen and Lenniel on Súlvor, Ariel stopped along side them.
"Mae Govannen, hiril Galadwen and Lenniel. I am Ariel, Ithilwen's best friend. I am here to help."
"Suilad Ariel. We are to send you to pick up Ithilwen, who stayed behind so we could escape. She shall be waiting for you. Bado! Lagoras!"
Ariel nodded and headed at full gallop towards where they had come; while Galadwen and Lenniel kept on track towards Imladris.

Ithilwen watched the two ladies ride off on Súlvor, and she turned to re-check the valley to be sure it was clear of signs of habitation. Satisfied, Ithilwen unsheathed her sword and began to walk. Her ears picked up faint sounds from the camp, and Ithilwen began to walk faster. The ulunn were absent, but when they came back...
She did not want to be within their reach--even a fighter as skilled as she would be brought down by their sheer numbers.
She walked, and she swapped her sword to her good arm. At least her wound wasn't bleeding anymore. She would get it healed when she reached Imladris.
Ithilwen had been made good time away from the encampment and was now heading toward the path they had originally taken. Suddenly, she heard hoofbeats coming and she dived behind a stump to watch, unseen.
In a shaft of sunlight, the horse and rider came into view and to Ithilwen's intense relief it was her friend Ariel and her mare Naurithil.
"Suilad mellonen! Will you pick up an injured and weary traveler?" Ithilwen grinned.
"And why should I? Look at the mess you've gotten yourself into! A good Rochvess always gets herself out of her troubles!" Ariel laughed and rode Naurithil up to Ithilwen. "Of course I'll carry you back to Imladris--I was sent to find you before the great host got near the borders of Mirkwood. Hop on up!"
Ithilwen resheathed her sword, vaulted onto Naurithil's back behind Ariel, and settled herself as the three turned back towards Imladris.
"We should fly fast--the ulunn who captured the Ladies Galadwen and Lenniel have not discovered their flight, but when they do..."
"Yes, we will be long gone by then. I met the two ladies on the road--they will make it safe to Imladris' borders."
Ithilwen sighed. "That is good."
Naurithil went into a flat out run through the forest, but that was the only evidence of their haste--Ariel was singing silly nonsense and laughing!

The forest had changed to a brightness only compared to the morning sunshine on spring rain. Imladris was this way each day and how amazing it was.
Galadwen and Lenniel had finally reached the borders of Imladris and they knew they were safe.Upon entering the gates, no one seemed to acknowledge that they had arrived, not even the royals who were there presently.
Upon reaching Imladris Hall, where Lord Elrond lived, Galadwen halted Súlvor and dismounted. She then turned around to help Lenniel off as well.
Galadwen wished to speak with Lord Elrond immediately, so she rushed up into the Hall.

"We shall be there shortly, my friend and comerade--then you can get that wound of yours taken care of!" Ariel said to Ithilwen as they pelted helter-skelter through the forest on Naurithil.
Ithilwen looked back, suspicious that their passing through Mirkwood would be so easy considering the previous days. Don't borrow trouble, she cautioned herself and adjusted her position behind Ariel.
"Túliel ven trî vor, a ródiel nan galad!*" Ariel crowed triumphantly as they both saw the light spilling through the trees up ahead. Ithilwen let out an exaggerated sigh of relief and then the two ladies giggled. Naurithil snorted, then cantered down the path into the hills which would lead to Imladris.
*"We have come through darkness, and have found a way to the light!"

Galadwen and Lenniel rushed into the Hall in hopes of finding Hir Elrond there.
No one was there, even after calling and searching the whole Hall. It was quite strange.
So Galadwen and Lenniel went out to the bridge and waiting, in hopes of seeing Ithilwen and Ariel when they arrived.

(OOC: whew, loooooong post here Gal! ) Ariel and Ithilwen had been cantering along the trail for a while when Ariel slowed Naurithil and hailed another scout. "Suilad! I have found our comerade Ithilwen, and she had sent the two ladies from Thranduil's hall ahead on her horse to Imladris--you may carry word back to the company that they will not be needed for searching." "Mae govannen, Ariel, Ithilwen," the scout replied, bowing his head swiftly to both. "That is good, for Lord Elrond himself rode out with us to help in the search. Geritha 'lass ir narathon i hiniath.*" Ithilwen and Ariel returned the gesture and Ithilwen spoke: "Yes, there were a whole horde of ulunn which had kidnapped the ladies Galadwen and Lenniel--I--" "She played the brave and courageous heroine she really is and daringly rescued the two ladies, then selflessly lent them Súlvor to hasten their escape from the clutches of evil while she, wounded, walked on foot." Ithilwen glared at Ariel and the scout chuckled to himself. "Cenin, cenin...* Well, you must be off; Rochvess Ithilwen, you need medical attention, and I need to go inform Lord Elrond of the lucky fate of you all." "Are the healers still in the complex?" Ariel asked, steadying Naurithil's anticipated movement. "Yes, there should be four--two came with us in case of battle." "Ok, we are off!" "Navaer!" Naurithil leaped into a run, and Ariel grinned back at Ithilwen as they ran the last short leg of their journey back to Imladris. Ithilwen frowned and her eyes snapped in irritation at Ariel. "What did I say?" Ariel asked innocently. "You know very well what you said." Ariel laughed as the three ran on. ------------------------- Ai, na vedui, Ithilwen thought to herself as the familiar arches of Rivendell rose before them. Ariel slowed Naurithil to a slow trot and they entered the cobble-stoned courtyard. Much to Ithilwen's relief, Galadwen and Lenniel were there, safe, and Súlvor was contentedly grazing in the gardens. Oh, I'll have some explaining to do when Eregir* returns... she thought, wincing. She dismounted and grimaced as her sliced arm muscles pulled painfully when she subconsciously moved them to steady herself. They had become numbed from prolonged stillness. Ithilwen whistled to Súlvor, and he trotted over, but Ariel came up behind her and grabbed his reins. "I'll take care of him for you--now go inside and get healed!" Ithilwen rolled her eyes and laughed as she jogged across the courtyard and up the steps. "Suilad a mae govannen, Hiril Galadwen, Lenniel. It is good to see you both here safe and away from the ylynn*." *He will have joy when I will tell him the news. *I see, I see... *Eregir is a gardener/grounds-keeper of Rivendell, in addition to being a seasoned warrior. *plural of 'ulunn'> monsters

'Greetings,' Linniel said, returning Ithilwen's greeting. 'My heart thanks you. You rescued us, then lent us your horse, taking no thought of yourself and your injuries, and for that I thank you. Were it not for you, we would still be locked up, if we were even alive.'#noedit

Ithilwen inclined her head towards the Lady before her and blushed. "I did only what my duty as a Rochvess required of me--any one of my other comerades would have done the same in an instant."
Ithilwen moved her injured arm and winced slightly. She smiled at Linniel and spoke:
"I must find a healer--this sword-wound has had no attention other than the basic first aid all Rechyn have knowledge of. I fear it may require stitches..."
The last was said as an afterthought half to herself, but then Ithilwen inclined her head once again to the Ladies Galadwen and Linniel, and began to enter the Great Hall of Imladris.
