Daisy Took was sitting outside under a tree with her cousins Ivy and Ruby. She was feeling bored, and wanted something to do. 'Mr. Bilbo was telling me one of his stories again last night. He was telling me about how he met Smaug, and saw inside his lair. I love hearing his stories!! They're so exciting! I'd love to go on an adventure like he did!'

Ruby smiled as she went over the story of Smaug and Mr. Bilbo in her mind. She'd heard it many times before, and loved it more each time it was told.
"How grand it would be to go on an adventure like dear Mr. Bilbo! What a wonder to see a real dragon!"

"And elves!" said Ivy, "And goblins and great big caves filled with treasure. He told me that some towns are bigger than Bree!" She fell silent, contemplating the vastness of such a town.

"Bigger than Bree!?" Ruby said, astonished. "I knew that there were huge towns, but he never told me that there were any larger than Bree! It would be wonderful to see a town like that!"

Daisy's eyes were wide with excitement. 'Let's go! Let's go on our own adventure! We'll go find the elves, and those cities bigger than Bree! If we don't set out on our own, we'll never get to see those things.'

Ivy began dancing on the grass. "We're going to see the elves! We're going to see the elves! Yes! Let's have an adventure! Let's go now, with a big sack of food!"

Daisy jumped up and started dancing around as well. 'We're going on an adventure!We're going on an adventure! Oh yes! A big sack of food! Come on! Let's go get ready. We need lots of food. We have lots of apples at home, so I can bring some of those. And carrots too. Would we need anything other than food?'

Ruby hopped up and joined the dancing. "No! Nothing more than food! We should go, right now and get all the food we'll need and set out right away!"

'Let's go to Bree first. We can stay the night there, then set out again. We should probably each bring a cloak, too, for when it's cold out,' Daisy suggested.

Ruby stopped dancing and started to think. "Right, cloaks, maybe a few blankets too. Why don't we all go prepare, and meet back here in a little while."

Daisy happily skipped back home, to get ready for the trip. She found a sack, and went into the celler and started piling apples and carrots in it. She then went inside, to get her cloak and anything else she might need.

Ruby ran off to her Hobbit hole as well. She grabbed her pack and began stuffing all different types of food into it. She then grabbed her ruby-red cloak, and a blanket. She looked around for anything else she might need, and decided to bring her sharpest knife that she used for cooking. Not only would it be good for preparing meals along the way, it was also a safety precaution.
"That should be enough." She said to herself as she closed her sack. Ruby then ran out, and waited for her cousins under the tree where they had decided to go on this adventure.

Bramblerose, Daisy's younger sister, peeked out the window. She watched Daisy packing. "What in Middle-Earth is she doing?", Bramblerose thought to herself. "And where do you think you're going?" she demanded of Daisy.

Daisy stopped and whirled around. 'Oh, nothing!' she said, nervously laughing. She realized it wouldn't be enough to satisfy her sister's curiousity, so decided to tell her. She knew Bramblerose would probably like to go along, too. 'Oh, allright. Guess what I'm really doing?!' she excitedly asked, her eyes dancing. 'Ivy, Ruby and I are going on an adventure!! We're going to see cities that are even bigger than Bree, and we're going to see the elves!! First we'll stay the night in Bree, then we'll go find the elves!! We'll go find adventure, just like Mr. Bilbo!'
