Bramblerose was shocked! "Going on an adventure like Mr. Bilbo? Can I come? Oh, Daisy, please, please, please? I won't be a bother! PLEEEEEEEEEASE?!".

Daisy grinned at her sister. 'Allright, you can come. I've got some apples and carrots here in the sack for food, and I think Ruby and Ivy are bringing some food, too. Make sure you bring your cloak, for when it gets cold. And anything else you think you might need. But hurry!! We need to go meet Ruby and Ivy.' Daisy got her cloak, and looked around to see if she could think of anything else she needed to bring.

Ivy half-filled her pack with food and cooking things, added her blanket and tinderbox and then a lantern, a length of rope and a small hammer. She fetched her dark green cloak and then looked at the pack again. "I don't need a lantern, because we'll be going in daylight, and at night we'll make a fire. I don't need a hammer because there will be a sword somewhere. I won't need the tinderbox, because I won't need to light the lantern." She took all those things out and replaced them with seed cake. Then she thought about the elves.
Elves were craftsmen, she knew. They had special, magical things. They might think hobbits very simple folk if they saw nothing but her old cooking pot. She made little dolls to sell at market. They were trimmings of wood and scraps of cloth, but they were her craft and she was proud of them. She grabbed as many as she could fit into the pack, filled the spaces with handkerchieves and ran out, flinging her cloak over her shoulders and hoping the others had not gone without her.

Daisy walked around her room looking at her possesions. She grabbed a small bag to put things in. She placed the cloak in it, then saw her hairbrush. She picked up the brush and some hair ribbons and placed them in the bag. 'A blanket would be good,' she said to herself, placing a small she had made in the bag. She packed an extra skirt and blouse, then started to leave her room. 'Oh, how could I have forgotten?' she said aloud. She skipped over to a table beside her bed, and picked up a wooden box. She opened it, and looked at what was inside. It contained a small flute, which was very dear to her, and she loved to play. She practiced every day, and had to bring it with her. She closed the box, placed it in the bag, and skipped off to find her sister.

Bramblerose could hardly believe her luck! "What to bring, what to bring!" She darted around the room, picking up things here and there, stuffing them into her pack, things that she might need. Her pretty cloak, some chocolate in case Daisy forgot, a warm blanket, some extra dresses and skirts, a teapot, some of her favorite tea, and a hankerchief. "Most centainly a hankerchief because Mr. Bilbo always says he wishes he had time to fetch one. And I do hope Daisy remembered her flute, I love to hear her play." And with that, she ran outside under the tree, where her sister had told her to meet them.

As Ruby sat under the tree, waiting for her cousins, she thought about everything that she might need, and found that she was a little careless in her packing. She rushed back to her home, and grabbed a few more things. A change of clothes, a brush, some soap, a small notebook and a pen. She then ran out with the new supplies and waited some more.

As Daisy ran out of the house, she saw Bramblerose up ahead of her already on her way to the tree. Daisy ran to the tree, too, and saw that Ruby was already there. 'This is going to be great!! We'll have ever so much fun!' she said, hopping back and forth from one foot to the other. She was so excited, she couldn't contain herself, and started dancing around.

"Hello Ruby!", Bramblerose said cheerfully. Are you ready to go see the elves, and cities, and mountains, and--oh everything?!"

Ivy ran up next, grinning as she saw Bramblerose. "Are you coming too? That's wonderful!" She turned to the others, "Bilbo would be ever so proud of me. I've got everything I could possibly need. Just everything! And some seed cake!"

'Oh, cake!! I brought some carrots and apples. Do you think we'll need more food? I don't know that we have enough. Maybe we should bring more...' Daisy was starting to wonder if they had enough to satisy their rather large appetites.

"Well, I think we'll have enough, we can always get more from the elves. Remember the lembas bread? I do hope they haven't run out!"

"We can buy more in Bree!" said Ivy, "I've got plenty of money. They have nice honey cakes in Bree and sausages and lots of fresh eggs and lovely bread. Just think, in the towns bigger than Bree they probably have even better food!"

"Yes! Let's go now!" Ruby began dancing around, and then started skipping in the direction that she thought Bree was, but then stopped, unsure. "Which way is Bree?"
