Though ROTK was closer to the book than TTT I thought, there were still some pretty significant changes. Which one was most jarring to you? I think I liked Frodo sending Sam away the least. That's a pretty dramatic addition! Mostly because it changes their relationship. Also it could be "Other," but I didn't think of it in time, and I can't find a way to edit the actual poll.

I really missed the Mouth of Sauron scene. It's really great in the book because the whole army is devastated into thinking Frodo and Sam are dead.
I understand why they might've left this out. It'd be really hard to make a character with a skull as a head (and flaming nostrils and eye sockets), and not make it corny/stupid looking. That not might even be the reason at all, but I thought it would be a valid excuse anyways.

I thought the Frodo sending Sam away was interesting but it would have been better without it.

I'd say Arwen's fate tied to the Ring. Elrond was all being dramatic about Arwen dying if the Ring wouldn't be destroyed, but in the end, all of the characters would die if the Ring wouldn't be destroyed. What's the big deal about Arwen's fate?

I didn't like the fact that Frodo sent Sam home - I don't think that would ever have happened, and even if it did, Sam would never have abandoned his master and gone home. Denethor throwing himself off the cliff also annoyed me. But I feel bad for complaining since they were such tremendously wonderful films

Arwen said to be dying for no reason annoyed me. So did the fact that Celeborn seems to have gone on the ship with Galadriel. If Celeborn ever went west, it was long after Galadriel did. They parted for a time because he would not leave Middle Earth.

oooh! I didn't really like any of the changes, but the mouth of sauron bit being missed out really annoyed me. It pretty much changed the focus of the whole battle in front of the black gate and I really wanted to see him! ggr! Still, always the EE! Then there's some other stuf that was missed out that annyoed me. Denethor not having the palantir for one. It made everyone who's not read the books think he's just a crazy old man unlike in the books where he's despairing because of what Sauron has shown him in the palantir. Shadowfax killing him didn't bother me as much as him jumping off the edge of Minas Tirith, the way it was done in the books was so much better!

They fought the pirates of the South, allowing Aragorn and the other Dunedain and the sons of Elrond to board the ships and make for Minas Tirith (which was another change: having Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli go through the Paths of the Dead alone).

Ooooooooh!!! Cool! I never would've guessed, but I really liked when Aragorn came off the ship, and the looks on the orcs' faces!!! That was funny. I did know that Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli really weren't supposed to go in there by themselves. My brother told me the other Rangers went in there with them, but someone else told me it was the Rohorrim(I know that's not spelled right!!). And, judging my brother's other things he told me about lotr, I don't think he's right.

I think what annoyed me at most was Arwen's fate tied to the ring...I think it had no reason for being there, and it didn't as that much to the story...

Well, I think the reason they did that with Arwen was so that Aragorn would have more, I don't know...my idea kinda fell apart. I was going to say, he would have more of an incentive to fight, but that doesn't make any sense. So I don't even know why I posted...
